I come back to this show so often when I'm in the mood for '69, which is quite often. It doesn't get much better than this. Not many Elevens can hold a candle to this one, however I believe the Dark Star is the Pièce de résistance!

If only going by the thread title, then I still can not get enough of this,

It's perfect. And essential. And The Eleven cooks.

yes, but that show is from '68. certainly essential '68. perhaps the best show of '68. but this dream bowl show has plenty to offer that the avalon show does not.

Repetitive listening to the 10-12-68 show must cause occasional hallucinations involving numbers and math (or maths as our good British friends would say).

Maybe the show is beyond the boundaries of time? In that case, I wouldn't want to piss it off by any limitations. You would know why. Lay that DDHNM on your backside and smack you upside w/TOO. Be careful. It could be 10-12-41 or 10-12-2137 for all we know. ;-)

This is undoubtedly a top performance of 1969, though I find The Eleven from the previous night to be significantly better:

The 22nd is definitely a better all around show. And don't get me wrong, the Eleven on the 22 is superlative, and remains one of my favorites.

I just love the Eleven from the 21st because of Jerry's spectacular heavy-metal style riffing somewhere around the 12-13 minute mark - never heard him play like that anywhere else. And I think they take the jam quite a bit further out; the last few minutes leading up to Lovelight are especially mind-boggling!

Like one of the reviewers of this show, I couldn't believe I had never heard this Dark Star prior to this summer. Easily my most interesting IA find in recent years.

The entire Ark run is worth getting. Essential 1969 IMO.

I've heard every show that is available from '69. The Ark run is absolute magic. Feb. through June of 1969 is probably my favorite period of GD music ever played. 4/05, 4/06, and 4/07 at the avalon is another favorite run of mine. The Fillmore West Box contains the #1 run though, of course.
